The SEO Library May 2016 highlights and ticket statuses have been posted to the SEO Consortium News and Announcements on the SEO Support site.

This section of the Support site will contain information pertaining to the following:

  • Support ticket snapshots for the previous month including the subject and ticket number.
  • Support ticket statistics by service department with ticket statuses.

The Mid-East Career and Technology Center held the ABLE, Adult Basic Education Classes each Tuesday and Thursday of May in the F. Ward Murrey Annex.

Misty Janusik provided core training for the SEO Staff on the EBSCO Discovery Service. This service allows for the integration of the content from the Ohio Web Library databases to be included as a separate tab when doing a search in the member libraries Enterprise catalogs.

Jennifer Cassidy attended a telephone call with Denise, EBSCO for service information in preparation of the May SEO Director’s meeting.

Dianna Clark and John Stewart met with a representative of the IAP, Government Services Group to access the necessary repairs to the SEO Library Center roof due to leaking.

Matt Motes provided the third session on using Microsoft Excel for Marcy Welsh, Cathy Bond, Misty Janusik, Carla Bartram and Sharon Douglass. Matt is providing a series of training for all internal SEO staff.

Jennifer Cassidy met with David Brown, Director and additional staff of the Canal Fulton PL at their library. She reviewed the services provided by SEO and toured the library.

Dianna Clark, John Stewart, Jennifer Cassidy, Don Winland, Janice Bond, Nicole Brown, Brenda Michel and Matt Motes attended the annual SEO Director’s Meeting held at the State Library. There were representatives from 74 SEO member libraries. The business meeting was from 10:30 – 3:30.

John Stewart, Cathy Bond, Misty Janusik, Brenda Michel and Sharon Douglass held a telephone and Webex session with the catalog and acquisitions staff of the Chillicothe PL. The meeting was informational for review of the procedures within the acquisitions module.

Jennifer Cassidy, Nicole Brown and Paula Clark attended the Monthly Ohio Digital Library Touch base meeting via telephone with Mandy Knapp.

May 18-21, 2016

Michael Postlethwait traveled to Indianapolis to attend the SirsiDynix Symphony Application Programming Interface (API) Workshop which teaches access to the core components of the Symphony system. This training is a pre-conference session before the annual user’s conference.

Dianna Clark held a follow up telephone conference with Erin, Midwest Tape for feedback about the HOOPLA service from the SEO Director’s meeting.

May 23 – 25, 2016

The COSUGI, Customers of SirsiDynix Users Conference was held at the Marriott downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Dianna Clark, John Stewart, Don Winland, Michael Postlethwait, Janice Bond, Misty Janusik and Brenda Michel attended from the SEO staff. Additional staff was able to attend with the conference being held closer to home. This allows for attending several more of the training sessions held during the conference.

The SEO staff attended the monthly all staff meeting with the State Library staff via videoconference.

Dianna Clark and John Stewart met with the Washington County Public Library Director, IT and automation staff at their new location in Marietta. They will be opening the location in the fall in addition to their new bookmobile for outreach in the community.

The SEO staff attending the Annual SEO Director’s meeting held multiple internal planning sessions and telephone conferences with Vendors for preparing the content presentations for the meeting.
