The SEO Library June 2016 highlights and ticket statuses have been posted to the SEO Consortium News and Announcements on the SEO Support site.

This section of the Support site will contain information pertaining to the following:

  • Support ticket snapshots for the previous month including the subject and ticket number.
  • Support ticket statistics by service department with ticket statuses.

The Mid-East Career and Technology Center held the ABLE, Adult Basic Education Classes each Tuesday and Thursday of June in the F. Ward Murrey Annex.

John Stewart, Don Winland and Michael Postlethwait traveled to the Ashland PL to assist staff and troubleshoot and review the network equipment used for connecting to SEO services.

The SEO Library Assistant staff attended a webinar provided by SirsiDynix, Symphony Ninja Series on “Display Holds in Symphony”.

June 6, 2016

The SEO IT and Library Assistant staff attended the monthly SirsiDynix Sure Sailing Consultant call. SEO has been assigned a new consultant, Alex Haig. SEO staff attending the monthly calls will be determined by the agenda items and questions.

John Stewart and Michael Postlethwait traveled to the Washington County PL in Marietta to assist staff with new peripherals to be used at the new location, Marietta Drive-Up.

John Stewart, Michael Postlethwait, Don Winland, Janice Bond, Marcy Welsh and Paula Clark reviewed database maintenance that resulted from a ticket with SirsiDynix.

Brenda Michel, Misty Janusik, Cathy Bond and Nicole Brown met to prepare for upcoming training for the addition of the Gnadenhutten PL to the SEO Consortium.

Brenda Michel, Janice Bond and Nicole Brown continue regular meetings for the development of the BLUEcloud Analytics module report creation. BCA will replace Director’s Station for statistics later in the year.

Sharon Douglass attended the NOTSL, Northern Ohio Technical Services Librarian Spring meeting. The meeting was held at the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Parma-Snow Branch in Parma.

John Stewart and Michael Postlethwait attended a WebEx demonstration of the PrinterLogic: Enterprise Print Management Software.

Brenda Michel, Misty Janusik, Cathy Bond and Nicole Brown traveled to the Gnadenhutten PL to begin the training for adding their items to the SEO Database. The is the first of a series of trainings that will be made available to the library joining the SEO Consortium.

Matt Motes traveled to the Findlay-Hancock PL for ‘On-Demand” training on Windows 10. Matt provided five sessions with a total of 52 staff attending.

Dianna Clark attended a meeting of the State Library Executive Team via videoconference.

Matt Motes traveled to the North Baltimore PL for ‘On-Demand” training on Windows 10. Matt provided two sessions with a total of 12 staff attending.

Jennifer Cassidy provided instruction on various monthly tasks for Overdrive to Dianna Clark, Nicole Brown, Paula Clark and Valeria Weaver. Jennifer’s last day at SEO was June 17.

Janice Bond, Nicole Brown and Brenda Michel met for preparation of the annual patron purge for the SEO member libraries. Guidelines are set and libraries notified for any special requirements. This process will begin on July 1.

John Stewart, Brenda Michel and Dianna Clark traveled to the Licking County Library in Newark for an informational session by Envisonware for the new 24/7 Library unit that the library is going to provide on the west side of the county. SEO staff have been working on the creation of the location and parameters for circulation. Plans for the new 24/7 Library are to be in service by August 13, 2016.

Matt Motes traveled to the Mechanicsburg PL for ‘On-Demand” training on Windows 10. Matt provided three sessions with a total of 22 staff attending.

SEO staff attended a monthly SEO staff meeting in the afternoon.

Dianne Cole, Director of the Bowerston PL and Teresa Love, Fiscal Officer, made a visit to the SEO Library Center. Dianna Clark provided a tour of the SEO Library and introduced the SEO staff. John Stewart and Dianna provided an overview of the content that was provided at the SEO Director’s meeting in May and answered any questions about current and new SEO Services.

June 23, 2016

John Stewart, Janice Bond, Nicole Brown and Brenda Michel met to set criteria for the creation of named users for BLUEcloud Analytics. A survey will be sent to the SEO Director’s to provide that information for each library system.

Matt Motes traveled to the Grandview Heights PL for ‘On-Demand” training on Cloud Computing. Matt provided two sessions with a total of 8 staff attending.

June 29, 2016

SEO staff attending the COSUGI, Customers of SirsiDynix User’s Conference met to review the content of the sessions that each attended. Action items were developed based on content that will be researched and evaluated for future implementation.

June 29, 2016

Matt Motes met and reviewed with Dianna Clark and Valeria Weaver regarding a database that he developed for access to various contacts, IT services and support services for the SEO Consortium libraries. The database will assist all SEO staff with providing support services by having a single point of access to the information. Matt will review the database with all staff at a later date for any additional information that may have value in residing in this database.
