What are the Guidelines for a browsing collection of Print/Audiobooks?

Modified on Wed, 3 Feb, 2021 at 4:54 PM

A browsing collection can be developed by purchasing additional copies of popular materials. The number of copies in a browsing collection will be determined on an individual basis. Each library building or location must own at least one circulating copy of a title for each browsing copy. Browsing collection copies will go into the circulating collection when the title is no longer in hot demand.

All SEO libraries using browsing collections will be required to use the special Browsing I-type that will establish the shared policies listed below.

The shared policy is as follows:

  • Circulation copy for each Browsing copy

Policy determined at the Local Library:

  • Loan Period
  • Fine Rate
  • Renewable or not
  • Available to fill holds for owning libraries card holders
