To transfer your personalized SirsiDynix Workflows settings from an old computer to a new one, you'll simply need to copy a specific folder. After installing Workflows on the new machine, but before logging in for the first time, locate the \Sirsi folder within your user directory on the old computer (e.g., C:\Users\Your_Username\Sirsi). Copy this entire folder and paste it into the identical location under your user account on the new computer. This action should effectively copy the majority of your configurations and preferences, saving you from manual setup.
Instructions:
Step 1: Copy the Sirsi folder from the old computer
- On the old computer, copy the Sirsi folder to a removable drive or shared file storage from the User directory. For example on the example computer below, it would be C:\Users\rwoods Replace rwoods with your computer user account name.
Step 2: Migrate the Sirsi folder to the new computer
- On the new computer, use file explorer to navigate to the user account folder on the new computer. This is typically C:\Users\Your user account name and move the Sirsi folder you copied in step one from the flash drive or shared storage to the new computer and say yes to any overwrite prompts you may see.
Step 3: Login to Workflows on the new computer
- You can now login to Workflows on the new computer. It will download all the site files it needs, and most of your settings on WorkFlows should be ported over to the new computer.
Please Note: In environments with distinct Windows user accounts for each employee or when utilizing Active Directory, it is necessary to copy the Sirsi folder from each user account on the old computer and paste it into the respective user account on the new computer. Because Windows stores user profile data individually under a folder bearing the account name, the settings and preferences for Workflows are likewise located within each Windows user account's directory.
