Large Print vs Larger Print

Larger Print Books

The National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped defines large print books as having a 14-point type or higher. Most "larger" print books have a point-type of 13.5.

Larger print materials with a 13.5 point-type (e.g. Harlequin’s larger print books) should not be considered large print and should be attached to the regular print record, if one exists.

Exception: HarperLuxe larger print books use a 14-point type and should be attached to the large print record.

If there is only a larger print record for a title, then the item can be attached to that record. Otherwise, please do not download a larger print record if a regular print (or large print for HarperLuxe) record exists.
