Searching for Accelerated Reader Reading Level and Lexile in WorkFlows

Many catalog records contain the Accelerated Reader Reading Level and Lexile Number. In WorkFlows, you can search for a specific reading level or Lexile as well as ranges. For records that do not contain reading level or Lexile, SEO subscribes to a quarterly update service to input these numbers into the catalog records.


Accelerated Reader

Specific Reading Level

To search for an Accelerated Reader reading level in WorkFlows:

  1. Open the Item Search wizard.
  2. Input the Accelerated Reader level in the Search for box (example: 3.4) and input {readprog} behind it.
  3. Change the Index to General and search Type to keyword, if not already. You can optionally limit to a specific library.
  4. Click Search.

Reading Level Range

If you want to search for a range (example: 3.0-3.9), input a question mark after the decimal point. Example: 3.?{readprog}


Lexile

Specific Lexile

To search for a specific Lexile number in WorkFlows:

  1. Open the Item Search wizard.
  2. Input the Accelerated Reader level in the Search for box (example: 680) and input {lexile} behind it.
  3. Change the Index to General and search Type to keyword, if not already. You can optionally limit to a specific library.
  4. Click Search.


Lexile Range

If you want to search for a Lexile range (example: 600-690), input two question marks after the first number in the Lexile. Example: 6??{lexile}
