Searching for Accelerated Reader Reading Level and Lexile in WorkFlows

Many catalog records within the consortium include Accelerated Reader (AR) levels and Lexile numbers. You can search for specific values or ranges directly in WorkFlows using specific search tags.


Accelerated Reader (AR)

Searching for a Specific Reading Level

  1. Open the Item Search wizard.
  2. In the Search for box, enter the level followed immediately by the tag {readprog}.
    Example: To find level 3.4, enter 3.4{readprog}.
  3. Ensure the Index is set to General and the Type is set to Keyword.

  4. Click Search.

Searching for a Reading Level Range

To search for a range of levels (e.g., all books in the 3.0–3.9 range), use a question mark as a wildcard after the decimal point.

  • Syntax: 3.?{readprog}

Lexile

Searching for a Specific Lexile Number

  1. Open the Item Search wizard.
  2. In the Search for box, enter the Lexile number followed by the tag {lexile}.
    Example: To find Lexile 680, enter 680{lexile}.
  3. Ensure the Index is set to General and the Type is set to Keyword.

Searching for a Lexile Range

To search for a range (e.g., 600–699), use two question marks as wildcards after the first digit.

  • Syntax: 6??{lexile}
