Each month when the Bounced Report is received, you will need to make changes to the user record by correcting the e-mail/SMS address or removing a bounced address. If an address is removed, the user's notify by preference will need to be updated.
E-Mail Address Listed
If there is an e-mail address, the e-mail address will need to be corrected or removed.
- In the Modify User wizard in WorkFlows in the bounced e-mail report, perform an EMAIL Keyword search for the e-mail address.
- Click on the Address tab. Check the e-mail address for any obvious misspellings (e.g. gmal instead of gmail) or incorrect sms.oplin.org addresses. Modify the e-mail address if necessary.
- Click Save.
- Click Save.
- If the address is not misspelled, delete the e-mail address by clicking in the EMAIL field and clicking the Delete Row helper.
- Click on the Demographics tab.
- Update the Notify bypreference to the appropriate option:
- STANDARD if no EMAIL or SMS addresses.
- SMS if user only has an SMS address.
- EMAIL if the user only has an e-mail address.
- Click Save.
No E-Mail Address Listed
If there is no e-mail address listed on the Bounced Report, you will need to search by the Patron ILS Control Number.
- In the Modify User wizard in WorkFlows, perform a User Key search for the Patron ILS Control Number.
- In the Demographics tab, determine how the user is notified.
- EMAIL: If the user is notified by e-mail, the EMAIL field is blank in the Address tab.
- SMS: If the user is notified by e-mail, the SMS field is blank in the Address tab.
- SMS_EMAIL: If the user is notified by e-mail, the EMAIL and/or SMS fields are blank in the Address tab.
- Click on the Address tab and locate the blank field(s).
- Click in the entry box of the blank field and click on the Delete Row helper.
- Click on the Demographics tab, and make the necessary change to the Notify by field option.
- Click Save.
