To ensure optimal performance and functionality of Symphony WorkFlows, it's crucial to grant the required permissions during installation. Without these permissions, WorkFlows may encounter several issues that hinder your experience such as the following:
- Offline Libraries Not Populating: WorkFlows relies on specific permissions to access and populate offline libraries in the drop-down menu.
- Inaccurate Labels and Messages: Certain permissions are required for WorkFlows to correctly display labels and messages within the interface.
By granting the required permissions, you ensure that Symphony WorkFlows functions as intended. Please follow these steps:
- The user using the WorkFlows client, MUST have Full control in the \JWF install folder located in the C:\%Program Files (x86)%\Sirsi directory. To modify permissions; you must first navigate to the C:\%Program Files (x86)%\Sirsi\JWF
- Right-click the \JWF directory and choose Properties
- Once inside the Properties window, choose the Security tab then click Edit to change permissions---It is the USERS (xxxxx) account that needs the permission changed
- If the user name is available in the list, then click on that user and choose —< Allow under Full control. If the user is not in the list, then you just click Edit —< Add and enter the user on the system that is going to be using WorkFlows, whether it be a local user or a domain user.
- Once the permissions have been changed, the staff client can now receive the necessary updates and files from the server.
