How do I suspend holds and end suspended holds in Enterprise?

Going on vacation? Suspend your holds

If you don't want your holds to arrive while you are away, please login to My Account and 'suspend' your holds. You'll keep your spot in line, but your item will not be sent to your library location until you activate your holds again.


Assuming a hold has been placed on a title


  1. Click on My Account at the top of the page 
  2. Next, click on the Holds tab
  3. Select the title(s) you want to suspend by clicking in the box to the left of the title, which in turn selects the title(s) 
  4. Click on the Suspend Hold(s)button displayed at the top (or bottom) of your holds list
  5. When the calendar appears, select a date to start the suspension (selecting the current date will begin the suspension immediately)
  6. Click in the End Date: field. When the calendar appears, select a date to end the suspension. Select a future date to begin the process of the hold being filled. Once the end date has expired, your hold will start the process of being filled.
  7. Click Suspend.


Once these steps are completed, the status of the item(s) selected is changed to suspended and a calendar icon will appear to the left of the item. A message displays to inform the user that holds are successfully suspended.


**IMPORTANT NOTE**


If only a start date is entered, but no end date is chosen, the hold will be suspended indefinitely. If no end date is entered, the suspension will remain in place. So be sure to include an end date when suspending holds.
