User Holds to Expire Soon

Managing Holds Expiring Soon

There are two methods to retrieve a list of items with holds that will expire soon:

What to do: Look up each item in the catalog. If there are copies that can still fill the hold, extend the hold expiration date. If all copies are unavailable (missing, discard, etc.), remove the user hold. You may request the item via interlibrary loan if the user still wants it.

BLUEcloud Analytics Method

  1. Locate the report HOLDS THAT WILL EXPIRE AT MY LIBRARY IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS in BLUEcloud Analytics. It is located in the BCA OHIO > Shared Reports > SEO REPORTS > HOLDS folder.
  2. In the prompts, click on your Library Code and use the single chevron arrow to move it to the Selectedcolumn.

  3. Click Run Report.
  4. Print or export the report as desired. For more help, see the BCA video tutorials.

WorkFlows Report Method

SEO can create a WorkFlows report that lists holds expiring soon for your patrons. Please open a support ticket to request this report be delivered to your preferred login (CIRC, TECH, or MANAGER).

  1. In the TEMPLATE REPORTS toolbar in WorkFlows, click Finished Reports.

  2. Select the List Holds (EXPIRES IN 30 DAYS) report and click Viewat the bottom of the screen.

  3. In the View Finished Reports popup, uncheck View Log and click OK.
