When the first notice is triggered, the patron will receive this mandatory confirmation: "You are opted in to receive 100 msg/mo of Library text notices. Msg&Data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to cancel."
Notice Language
SMS notices are designed to be brief. The following templates are used:

- Overdue: [First name] has item(s) overdue at [checkout library].
- Courtesy: [First name], you have library items due soon at [checkout library].
- Auto-renewal: [First name], you have items that renewed automatically from [checkout library].
Troubleshooting
If a patron is not receiving messages, they can perform a connectivity test:
- Ask the patron to text the word HELP to
877-675-4632. - If successful: They will receive a response confirming the service and the OPLIN support number.
- If unsuccessful: Their carrier may be blocking the shortcode, or they may have previously texted STOP to the service.
Re-enabling Service: If a patron has previously opted out by texting STOP, they must text the word UNSTOP to
877-675-4632 to begin receiving library notices again. For more technical details regarding OPLIN's SMS service, visit https://oplin.ohio.gov/sms.
